Our Wines

Chateau Davell’s current offerings include an assortment of French varietals and blends, including a Méthode Champenoise Sparkling Wine, a Mendocino Chardonnay, and two Bordeaux blends, the Premier Cru and our flagship blend, the Cuvée Impériale de Charlotte, named for our 3-year-old daughter. Several limited production library wines are also available through the Tasting Room, as well as an assortment of organic artisan cheeses pairings. Our wine labels feature works of art by winemaker/owner Eric Hays, who has a degree in fine art. The original artwork used for the labels is on display in the Tasting Room.

Brut Reserve, Sonoma

Aromas of citrus and peach, and subtle provençal herbs. Flavors of crisp apple and caramel with a smooth vanilla finish. Aged on the lees for 18 months. 60% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir. 12.5% Alcohol. 44 Cases Produced.

Chloe Chardonnay, Mendocino

Aromas of honeysuckle and lavender, crisp granny smith apple and sweet meyer lemon complimented by a rich, creamy body and buttered-sourdough-toast finish. 100% Chardonnay aged 8 months in French oak. 13% Alcohol. 65 Cases Produced.

Premier Cru, El Dorado

A Bordeaux style red blend inspired by the Cabernet Franc blends of Saint Emillion. Aromas of anise and clove with ripe raspberry and blueberry, followed by subtle cocoa, cassis and toasted oak. Aged 24 months in small French oak barrels. 14.9% Alcohol. 70 Cases Produced.

Marguerite, El Dorado

Our traditional Rhone blend of Syrah and Grenache is full-bodied with notes of blueberry and pomegranate, and finishes with dark cocoa, toasted oak and candied plum. Aged 33 months in French oak. 15.2% Alcohol. 62 Cases Produced.

Charlotte’s Cuvee, El Dorado

An old world blend reminiscent of the Merlot-based blends of Pomerol, Bordeaux. Our flagship wine is made with certified biodynamic grapes and has a deep garnet hue and bouquet of cinnamon and plum. Flavors of sweet cherry and cranberry, with a long dark cocoa, toffee and toasted oak finish. Aged 29 months in small French oak barrels. 14.8% Alcohol. 68 Cases Produced.

Zander Zinfandel, El Dorado

Our Zander Zinfandel, named for our nephew, is not your typical foothills Zinfandel. Instead of the fruit bomb ‘Gorilla’ Zin style, Zander is more elegant and luscious. With deep red cherry upfront, a creamy body, and a finish of fresh charred campfire smores and a hint of Ghost pepper heat.

Our Grand Merlot has an inky plum color with a bouquet of clove and anise complemented by flavors of black cherry, tobacco, mocha, and sweet oak.
